Have you ever thought
what will you do if you are trapped in a jungle with a wooden door separating
you from a leopard? If no, read this story and along with improve your
vocabulary. This is the 4th episode of my series Talk, Walk and Laugh
English.
Trapped :-
She seized the long wooden bar which went across the door. It was quite heavy but she lifted it and propped it against the beam and climbed up to the beam. She fitted herself into the space over the beam, and kicked the wooden bar down.
When the falling wooden bar crashed and bounced on the mud floor, and rolled, the leopard growled and hurled himself again at the door.
The latch burst open, and with a splintering smash-crash he was in. There was a maddening stampeding of animals in the shed. They'd kill each other if they broke their chains.
The leopard had sprung in, ready to seize his victim immediately by the throat and kill her at once by dislocating the neck, before shifting his hold to carry her off, but the room was empty.
She could see his obvious surprise. He toured both rooms, came back and stood underneath her.
Then he looked up, straight at the child. The tip of his tail twitched. He crouched low, gathering his muscles, measuring the distance. And then he sprang. His claws caught the beam, and, for one moment, the gleaming teeth and blazing eyes were up to her face. But as he could find no foothold, his weight pulled his claws free and he fell with a thump on the floor, but, catlike, on his feet.
